Informative video from ZSK showing the placement and connecting of LED’s onto textiles. This is almost like a pick-and-place machine used to populate PCB’s, but for soft materials. The conductive thread used is silver based and has a relatively low resistance. I notice in the video that the conductive thread is repeatedly sown of along a line, I’m not sure if this is to give a strong bold visual line or to improve the conductivity of the sown track, or possibly both.
This opens up the possibilities for mass producing active textiles.
