Vision shirt for intimate sports footage

Both Intel and Telefonica had the first Vision shirt on their respective stands. This shirt can wirelessly broadcast a wide angle view from a small camera placed in the centre of the chest.
This allows footage from right inside the game, the sort of intimacy you would not normally get. In the following photo we get a closer look at shirt. Below the material is a rigid chest plate that holds the camera and electronics in place. There are also some components high on the back of the shirt.

The company, First Vision have a couple of practical examples of its use. The following short video shows, on the TV adjacent to the shirt, the sort of exciting footage it can generate.

The company is Barcelona based and Telefonica is one of the investors in the company, but they are looking for others. The company were one of the Intel “make it wearable” competition finalists – hence their presence on the Intel stand.

Another curiosity that we saw at MWC 2015 was this exoskeleton that controlled the movements of a robot partner. The set up was rather impractical but great if you want to synchronise your dancing with a robot army. At the end of the video above you can see the pair in action.
