Levi’s Google jacket goes on sale

17 years after the Philips-Levi’s ICD jacket, Levi’s, together this time with Google, have released their jacket for urban cyclists. We have covered the jacket several times (here and here) on this site. However, it is well worth mentioning that the jacket is now available for sale which is an important milestone, in a field that is mostly still prototypes or bespoke one-off pieces, it is encouraging that companies like Levi”s and Google experiment with mass market electronic garments. Ominously there is little news on what might be next, hopefully it won’t take another 17 years for the upgrade!

A positive first impressions is given at Mashable a rather more sceptical review can be read on The Register. The jacket is available for $350.
