German designer Simone Schramm has created an experimental deforming sports top. The idea appears to be that through tightening of threads within the garment it can be made to open the surface and reveal colors from a lower layer. The ideas is that the tightness would be a measure of your exercise; the more you work the more that is revealed. Here is a short video showing the operation.
Stepper motors behind the garment were used to provide the progressive tightness, so it is not practical in the short term, however, it is great to see exploration of garments that will be able to dynamically adjust to our needs.
