Ralph Lauren has announced that the smart shirts that were recently shown at the American open tennis tournament (article here) will be available shortly for you to buy. The cost for these sensor packed shirts and accompanying App is $295. The shirts measure heart-rate and breathing through woven silver contacts integrated into the top and this data is combined with accelerometers and gyros contained within a clip-on module, to help quantify your workout. It is highly encouraging that a brand name has the confidence to put this smart shirt technology into the market, giving them the opportunity to be seen as leaders in the emerging market of sensing garments and a stronger tie to the sports market.

The heart-rate and breathing sensing is provided by OmSignal
