Teardown of CuteCircuit’s twinkle shirt

This is probably the first video teardown of an electronic garment, and it makes interesting viewing. In the end nothing startling, but lots of sensible design decisions: from the Atmel processor, to the flexible PCB through to the use of snaps to enable the electronics to be simply connected. Snaps were used back in 2000 in the Philips-Levi’s jacket as a way of simplifying the connection of electronics into and out of a garment. They have a lot to recommend them as they are robust, strong and well understood by users.
