Conductive fibre literally in action.

BAE systems has introduced their fabric power and data bus that will be worn by soldiers. This enables a wide variety of equipment to be quickly connected to the soldier. The harness has to survive extreme environments, from sandy hot deserts to wet and muddy terrain, and after an extensive period of testing is now ready for full release. It has taken the team of Stan and Asha at intelligent textiles many years to develop such a robust e-textile system. In addition to the conductive yarns, new connectors had to be designed; essentially everything needed to be developed from the ground up. It is really good to see e-textiles make it through to such to fully deployed product.
